An end of terrace house, two story dwelling. Previously extended at the ground floor level, localized in the heart of the well-established and sought real estate of Marino. All enclosed into a trapezoid site.
A family that needs to accommodate the natural growth of a teenager kids and the physiological space requirement for the entire family pushed to the requirement of a new house extension.
The preservation of the sunlight path on the existing extension was mandatory, natural consequence of this analysis was to design the new extension, at the first floor level, along the sideline of the house.
A contemporary wooden cladding extension was arranged into the triangular remained space. Connected by a new stair section and through a breaking wall between the small existing bedroom and the new part, the new extension provided a new master bedroom with en-suite – looking directly to the main green – and an private office convertible, if required, into a fourth bedroom.
The vertex of the tringle wooden box are rounded to smooth the pointiness of the shape. The severity of the gable wall is broken with a recessed two windows, all screened by a green pocket. Finally the wooden cladding stretches itself to the ground floor level, wrapping the side passage.
